And now for something completely different

Working with wire has been very frustrating and time consuming. I've also lost a lot of motiation recently so I thought I'd do something less taxing. Trying something new can be refreshing and replenish creativity and motivation.

Here is some blackout poetry which relates to my theme.

Navigating in the dark

Unshakable paranoia

This page was inspired by Sam Hodge's "Shattered" series of drypoint prints which I looked at in a previous unit.

This time I have thought about the meaning behind the designs. It works well with the words that I chose. When in isolation, it can be easier to fall into a state of despair. It can make you more fragile until you're at breaking point.

There was someone watching Alanna who saw the whole thing

Breaking point

I really enjoy creating blackout poetry. I am restricted by the words on the page so I have to be more creative and think outside of the box. I will continue to make these alongside my main design development if I want a break from it so I'm at least doing something creative and being inspired by fresh ideas.
